Who were the Paladins? Why use that name for a business?

If you went back 100 years and asked who King Arthur was, very few people could tell you. However if you were to ask about Charlemagne you would hear great tales of his adventures and also of his 12 knights, the Paladins. Unlike King Arthur, Charlemagne was a real historical person. His 12 Paladins were knights known for their fearlessness in battle. They were hand picked as guards and advisers to the King. Many believe that the tales of the round table and Arthur were adapted from this.

As well, one may remember the TV program "Have Gun, Will Travel", staring Richard Boone as Paladin. He was a gunfighter who traveled the west righting wrongs, protecting the innocent and used the Knight/Paladin from the chessboard as his calling card. 

In general, Paladins of history and legend are known as a Knight of distinctive virtue, who rights the wrongs around them. This is our objective when tackling difficult technology or helping people learn about this hi-tech world we live in.
